With those statistics, even if you think you're doing great, the Employers that you're working with might not agree with you, at least not all of them.

 

I remember when I was nationally recruiting for a Fortune 100 company and managing an international team. I traveled to a prestigious school for the field I was recruiting for at the time and I was shocked by what I encountered when I interviewed students. This was a Top 5 school and their students were not prepared and were not communicating their value. The Director of the Career Center asked for feedback during a joint meal and another company responded before I could...and he/she never asked me again for my feedback.

 

I returned back to my employer and told them...

 

"I don't think there were any quality candidates at this top school and we should seriously re-consider whether we recruit from that school any more."

 

That university lost out on a relationship that day from an employer that recruited heavily from their school. Was that your university and you might  not even know it?
